Picking Out Small Bathroom Furniture

Consider the functional versus the cozy and decide on what best suits your needs.  Putting furniture in a small bathroom used to be unheard of but with today’s designs and wide selection it is fairly easy if you plan ahead.  After you have measured your bathroom and decided on what furniture you would like to have, then you can put your plan into action. If you are a little uncertain as to what you want, take a look at everything on the market and try to visually place the piece of furniture into your bathroom.  Always make sure to take a tape measure with you just in case your handy hardware store employee is nowhere to be found.

Storage cabinets for a small bathroom to hide your clutter is great, just make sure it will fit properly and not look over sized for your bathroom.  Again, make sure you have your own tape measure.  Medicine cabinets are good and there are great ones to pick out that doesn’t look like it came from the 1950’s.  Consider a corner linen cabinet to keep your bathroom uncluttered and organized.  Wicker bath cubbies are also really nice storage units to have in your bathroom.  They are very attractive and hide a lot of junk.

Having a small dressing chair in your bathroom can be functional and elegant looking.  Take a look around some of your second hand stores especially if you are looking for antique looking furniture.  Also flea markets and yard sales are great ways to find a beautiful dressing chair for your bathroom without breaking your budget.  Also consider a small bench that could be refinished and repainted to give it a fresh new look.  Swivel stools and bench seats are also good choices as long as you find something that will fit well.

Towel racks and bathrobe knobs can also help keep your accessories streamlined while not taking up a huge amount of space.  One tip in the winter time that I use is my towel warmer.  I can store several towels on it, plug it in when I want a warm towel on a cold morning and it sits perfectly in the corner, out of the way and not taking up an extreme amount of space.  Another tip is placing a small towel holder vertically.  It really does look different but when you have forgotten to make a space for your towel holder to go horizontally like I did, you will improvise.  It works very well placed right outside of the shower.

Taking your time and making a few plans will help your decision making a lot easier.  Finding small bathroom furniture is not very hard to do but planning ahead and making sure what will work best for you will save a lot of time and headaches.
