When it comes to parrots, there are some things that you MUST do! Number one is making sure that they have a balanced diet which includes a mixture of high quality seeds with fresh fruits AND vegetables. Number two, you have to make sure that they have enough space to grow. This will involve buying a birdcage that is big enough where their feathers are NOT sticking out! Number three on the list is making sure that you have plenty of interaction with your brand new adopted parrots. Making sure that you at least TALK to them everyday! But what do you do if you have TWO parrots? Do you still have to talk to them everyday or can you leave them to their own devices? Let’s answer that and other questions, shall we?

First of all, when you have adopted two parrots then you have to be ready to do twice as much work. That’s only the natural thing to expect. You will have TWICE as much bird waste to clean. You can expect to buy twice as much food, and you can expect to change the water probably twice a day! But you should know this when you buy two parrots, so don’t be surprised.

Buying two parrots does have its advantages, it’s not ALL bad! When you buy two parrots at the same time, you are ensuring that your parrots have lifelong partners! Each other! There have been times when these birds have OUTLIVED their owners! Buying two parrots at the same time will help both birds in adjusting to their new home faster. There’s nothing like adjusting to a new home with a partner. This will also help your new parrots in the stress department. As you know, too much stress on ANY bird is not good.

To answer the earlier question of whether or not you still have to interact and talk to your parrots everyday, even though you have two of them. Yes, you do. Buying two parrots at the same time does not release you from your duties. Not only will talking to your pet parrots everyday help them to get adjusted to their new surroundings faster, it will also help you to get to know them. Their likes and dislikes. Remember, parrots are just like people. To know them is to love them.
